Classes

Classes at JAGS Sports Club are varied and inclusive. All classes are incorporated in membership; book online or with a member of reception, up to a week in advance. Classes are currently exclusive to members and take place in the Sports Hall. Please ensure you have your own equipment when attending, as we are unable to hire anything at this time. Yoga mats are available to buy at reception.

Suitable for all levels, AquaFit includes water walking, jogging, bicep curls, leg lifts, squats and kicking moves.  Expect a warm-up followed by cardio and strength-training exercises, finishing with a cool down.  You won’t be swimming and most exercises take place in the shallow end, but participants should be confident in the water.  This class will give you a great cardio workout with fantastic toning opportunities and with low impact on your joints.

Riding on a static bike, this group session is a brilliant way to keep fit, offering cardio training whilst also toning your legs and abs.  Speed and incline can be adjusted to accommodate individual needs and the teacher will often choose music to reflect the pace of the session.  This class is a lot of fun and offers an opportunity to build stamina and strength through interval training.

If you’re a seasoned cyclist and are ready for the next level, CycleFit Advanced is the class for you!  Lasting 45 minutes, this class will test your stamina, increase your cardio capabilities and build leg strength.

Free Weights Circuits offers an opportunity to familiarise yourself with the free weights equipment in the context of a class.  Expect to work with bell bars, kettle bells, dumbbells and medicine balls, completing a number of reps with one piece of equipment before moving to the next.  Your muscles will definitely know you’ve been to this small class, and you will have an effective cardio workout at the same time.

Free Weights for Women is an introduction to weights, with supervised progression, to help you gain confidence in the weights gym.  Building strength according to your own body type and goals, you will learn to squat, press, pull, deadlift and swing, in a safe and effective manner.
